M. L. Cohen

M. L. (Mike) Cohen is the author of  2017’s Rivertown Heroes, a legal thriller that Kirkus described as fast paced and nuanced. Mike’s poems, short stories, and  excerpts have appeared in over fifteen publications and anthologies. 

Mike’s short story collection, The Three of Us, including his award winning short story, “The Cantor’s Window,” was published by Adelaide Books in 2018.  His most recent short story “Dropouts” was published in Bewildering Stories Magazine in September.

Mike’s latest novel in development is a satire, working title CO-OP, an Organic Comedy.

Mike Cohen practiced law in the Pacific Northwest for five decades. He has worked as a Washington State Supreme Court law clerk, a white-collar crime prosecutor, founded his own small law firm, and served as a senior partner in an international law firm until his retirement in 2019.

Since 2017, Mike’s short stories and novel excerpts have appeared in sixteen literary periodicals, reviews, magazines, and anthologies. A short story collection,“ The Three of Us” was released by Adelaide Books in 2018. Mike’s well regarded first novel “Rivertown Heroes” is a vivid coming of age story and gripping legal mystery.

Born in the Midwest, Mike lives with his family in Seattle.
